Who We Are
The Ghana Education Service Occupational Pension Scheme (GESOPS) is a Tier-2 pension scheme registered and regulated by the National Pensions Regulatory Authority under the Pensions Act, 2008, (Act 766) as amended. The Scheme’s membership is drawn from employees of the Ghana Education Service, with members belonging to one of the Unions in the educational sector.
GESOPS is managed by a Board of Trustees with representation from relevant institutions such as the Ministries of Education, Finance, the Attorney General’s Department, the various Unions and an Independent Trustee. Like all Tier-2 Pension Schemes, GESOPS receives five (5) out of the 18.5% monthly social security contributions made on workers’ behalf.

Welcome and thank you for visiting GESOPS’ website, which is designed to make your online experience simple and convenient.
GESOPS began its journey in April 2016 as one of the pioneer public sector occupational pension schemes in the country. Today, it is the largest occupational pension scheme, with a membership of over 320,000 and the largest asset base.
Having been in operation for only four-years, GESOPS is a relatively young scheme, however, our focus on excellence and innovation is poised to propel us into a benchmark scheme in Ghana and beyond.
Guided by our core values of reliability, integrity, efficiency, professionalism, transparency and accountability, we are committed to ensuring that we first and foremost protect and grow the funds of the Scheme over time, whilst ensuring a superior customer experience for our members.
We believe our journey towards excellence has only just begun, as we have set our sights even higher to elevate our standards for governance and management, become industry pace setters in leveraging technology and deliver exceptional value to our members and stakeholders.
